Tourism research handed on to the next generation
Dr Reinhardt is the new Director of Tourism Research Professor Opaschowski to concentrate on futurology
After 25 years the time is now ripe for passing on the reins of Tourism Research of the Stiftung für Zukunftsfragen, an initiative of British American Tobacco, into younger hands. On 4th February 2009, during the Hamburg International Tourism Fair REISEN HAMBURG, Professor Dr Horst W. Opaschowski (68) informed the community of experts in this field of the results of the 25th tourism analysis and then handed on the role of Academic Director of Tourism Research to Dr Ulrich Reinhardt (38).
Dr Reinhardt has made a name for himself as an expert in leisure and tourism over many years, previously acting as Head of Research for tourism analysis. With the reorganisation of the BAT Freizit-Forschungsinstitut into the Stiftung für Zukunftsfragen, Professor Opaschowski will concentrate more on futurology in the social, economic and political fields.
