We deal with the future and engage in dialogue with society. To this end, we organise various events at which our research findings are presented and discussed. It means that we can engage in an exchange of views and ideas with representatives from the worlds of science, business, media and politics. This not only helps to disseminate our findings but also helps to regularly verify the realistic nature of our research and avoid the accusation of ‘ivory tower’ science. In 2004, we also established an exclusive background discussion group comprising various experts. This group meets at regular intervals and discusses topics that are or will be of major social importance, without any expectations of an outcome. We also collaborate with a number of partners who themselves deal with the topic of the future in Germany and other countries, for example the Zukunftsforum in Bayreuth and the European Forum Alpbach.
