Our findings are not based on idle speculation or any type of crystal ball. Our analyses and forecasts are supported by scientific research that encompasses a mix of qualitative and quantitative methods. In addition to semi-structured interviews and small group discussions, our regular surveys form the core of our research work. To do these, we commission independent survey institutes, which conduct interviews for us by personally speaking with a representative sample of the population. We have been asking people many of the same questions for more than 30 years at regular intervals so that we can create time series for survey results, which form the basis of our analysis work. This helps us not only to understand social developments but also to formulate forecasts for the future. In addition to our time series research, we are also open to new topics and issues relating to current developments, which we address in our surveys and which provide an insight into current social processes.
