Qua vadis, Freizeit? Symposium on leisure problems in the second half of the 1980s
Almost 30 years have passed since the last conference on the topic, which addressed leisure time issues in industrial society in 1957. Since then, the amount of free time available each day has increased further – from 2.7 hours then to around 4.5 hours today.
However, leisure time has not remained solely about freedom, joy, and the enjoyment of life. For many people, the increased amount of free time has also led to a growing feeling of boredom.
On September 18th and 19th, scientists and experts will discuss problems in dealing with leisure time and possible solutions in Hamburg. This conference is aimed at all those who deal with leisure time professionally and politically as we head into the 1990s.
The event is organized by, among others, the German Society for Leisure (DGF) and the BAT Leisure Research Institute. The conference program and registration form are available from both institutions.
